Women in Horror 2

I was mentioned on this list, along with a lot of other great female authors.

I’ve only recently started to think of myself as a horror writer, and I still think of myself as a fantasy writer first, science fiction writer second, and horror writer third.

I haven’t read a lot of horror, but I am looking to expand my horizons. I’ve enjoyed some darker things by people like Damien Angelica Walters and Rachel Swirsky. I ordered a collection of Shirley Jackson’s short stories, and I’m looking forward to checking it out.

Who are your favorite female horror writers, oh gentle readers?
